An effort aimed at raising $600,000 to build a community recreation center in Mountain Home gained a tentative "green light" during a meeting Thursday evening. The working group meeting of community representatives, business owners and concerned citizens focused on finding a way "to make this community a better place," said David Duro, president and chief operating officer with the Treasure Valley YMCA...

Local fire crews battled a series of range fires Monday afternoon with one burning more than 1,000 acres north of Mountain Home. According to Nick Yturri from the Bureau of Land Management, five spot fires ignited over an eight-mile stretch of the interstate starting around 2 p.m.

Sabrina is the daughter of Tom and Cindy Huggins and Robert is the son of Darrell and Betty Welle, all of Mountain Home. Sabrina and Robert were married by Jack Wyngaard with the river as the backdrop. The reception was held there under the shade trees.
