Dear editor: Returning to the community that we so love after a seven-year absence, it was truly a wonderful welcome back this past 4th of July. A new house with a great view of Bennett, quiet neighborhood, and not very far from town. Then at 10: 15 we really understood, yes, it was a view, but far more than that it was a community coming together to celebrate our nation's independence...

Dear editor: A couple of weeks ago, I was having lunch in Kurly's and a fire crew of around 20 came in to eat. They were in their gear, all covered in soot, and had been fighting that big fire that was going on. They ate and then looked like they were getting ready to go out and hit it again... what amazing people!...

Dear editor: On behalf of the Mountain Home Fire Department "Streetwalkers," I would like to thank each and every one of you, individuals and businesses alike, who donated so generously to the annual Fourth of July fireworks. We are always overwhelmed each year how this community comes together to make our fireworks show such a success. Once again, we exceeded our expectations. This is the first year, after some last minute donations on the 4th of July, we exceeded the $ 10,000 mark in one year...
