County fair and rodeo kicks off at fairgrounds next week (Local News ~ 07/13/12)
People from across Elmore County will enjoy a week of "fun in the sun" during the county's annual fair and rodeo, which runs from July 15-21 at the fairgrounds in Glenns Ferry. The fair is all based around kids -- to educate them on challenges and responsibilities of farm life, said county fair manager Rena Kerfoot. Report: Crime in Elmore County drops to a 5-year low (Local News ~ 07/13/12)
Following a modest jump in criminal activity the previous year, communities across Elmore County saw crime drop to a five-year low in 2011, according to an annual report released by the Idaho State Police. The county had 1,058 reported offenses during the 12-month period with roughly 870 of those crimes occurring within the city of Mountain Home -- an 18 percent drop overall, the report said... -
