Mountain Home Police Chief Nick Schilz deals with his fair share of criticism from local residents when his officers catch people engaged in some type of wrongdoing. But he had some words for those who feel that his officers were deliberately targeting the city's bar district...

The city council has approved a plan that's expected to pay off the remaining debt on its police department building several years ahead of schedule. The action came during a special meeting Jan. 10. Mountain Home is one of nine communities across the state refinancing their bonds or certificates of participation to cover expenses associated with large-scale construction or improvement projects like the police headquarters here...
