MHHS students tour the Capitol in Boise

Mountain Home High School students from Mr. Bundy’s Boise State concurrent credit American Government class had the opportunity to go to the Capitol and observe the legislative process up close and personal. The day started on the garden level of the Capitol where the students saw the state emblem with the Latin motto Esto perpetua meaning “May it endure forever.” The group walked through the House Wing first and peeked in on some House Committee meetings. ...

On Feb. 26 the Western Elmore County Recreation District held its monthly meeting. The meeting began with the district renewing its yearly water lease with John Kieffer. In exchange for paying for the yearly fees from the Mountain Home Irrigation District and taking care of the weeds on the property Kieffer will once gain be able to use the district’s water right for this season...
