The Giving Tree project for 2018 is coming to a close. This year a total of 196 families’ applications were accepted for the holiday gift help. There’s still time to drop off your letters to Santa and have a reply delivered to your home by the MHFD. Deadline for drop off is Dec. 19 at 5 p.m. Firemen will be out delivering replies from Santa on the evenings of Dec. 13 and Dec. 20. The Mountain Home Public Library had a packed house on the evening of Dec. 8 as community members showed up to visit with Santa Clause and The Grinch at the library’s annual Christmas event.
