The City Council meeting on Aug. 28 marked the beginning of the end of a 20-year-long struggle to gain use of the rail line owned by the Department of Defense. Director of Economic Development Paula Riggs informed city council members that evening of the finalization of the lease agreement between the City of Mountain Home and the Department of Defense, giving the city access to the rail line currently connected to the Mountain Home Air Force base and the hundreds of acres of open land surrounding it, waiting to be developed.. ...

Mountain Home Museum receives rural grant
