Four local high school students earned opportunities to see first-hand how local, state and federal governments function during an upcoming mock government exercise. Gabriel A. Vela, 68, of Brownfield, Texas, formerly of Mountain Home, passed away on April 2, 2015. Services will be held at Branon Funeral Home Chapel in Lamesa, Texas. Interment will be at Dawson County Cemetery.

Eunice L. Bellegante, age 87 of King Hill, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at a Glenns Ferry care center. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

More than 150 people in the Mountain Home area were targeted in a series of cases involving tax fraud, according to updated information from the Idaho Tax Commission. Information released on Friday showed that 135 tax filers were victims of this type of fraud along with another 19 individuals stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, said Renee Eymann, a spokesperson with the state tax commission.

William C. Ballard, age 85 of Mountain Home, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015, at his home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Pauline A. Kent died peacefully on April 3, 2015 in Bryan, Texas. The family will receive visitors at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home on Friday, April 10, 2015, from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be a celebration of her life with a Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015. Burial will be held at Mountain View Cemetery followed by lunch at the Hampton Inn.
