The Elmore County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday that Melanie Kastner, 16, who went missing Oct. 16, has been located. ECSO officials said Kastner apparently was found in Oregon following a routine traffic stop by an Oregon State Trooper in Bake City, Ore. She was one of the passengers in the vehicle and was detained initially in Baker City pending her return to Elmore County...

John R. Garner, 87, of Mountain Home, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at a Boise care center. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Heather Leighanna Schultz, 24, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at a Boise hospital, after a brief battle with cancer. A memorial service was held at Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Bible Baptist Church in Mountain Home. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home...

The Local Highway Technical Assistance Council has announced that after "excellent progress" on construction repairs, the Middle Fork Boise River Road reopened Friday, Oct. 31, ahead of schedule. Heavy localized rain created flash flooding that washed out the road in early August. With just two access roads to the small community of Atlanta and the Middle Fork Road being the only reliable winter access road, crews had to work aggressively to finish the project...
