The Mountain Home Royals started the week off with a doubleheader sweep of the Boise Seminoles and tried six days later to make it three in a row over the Seminoles. But they blew a 4-0 lead to lose to the Seminoles 5-4 in the fifth-place game at the Firecracker Invitational Tournament...

Approximately 100 people took part in the Fourth of July Parade in Pine-Featherville last Friday. Campers with kids dotted the road from Deer Creek to Pine to view the parade. After a short break, during which more participants were picked up, the parade went on to Featherville with those alongside the road cheering on everyone in the procession and picking up candy being thrown from those in the vehicles in the parade...

Crime in Mountain Home and across Elmore County remained at a 10-year low in 2013 although the number of arrests spiked during the same time, according to an annual report from the Idaho State Police. Released earlier this month, the report includes a synopsis of crime statistics gathered from 108 law enforcement agencies across the state...

William H. "Bill" Watson, 85, of Mountain Home, passed away at his home following a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, July 7, 2014. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 14, from 5-7 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
