Richard R. Laubach, a Mountain Home man accused of killing his stepson in March 2013, pled guilty to the charge during a hearing on Monday. Laubach pled guilty to a single count of first-degree murder as part of an agreement between the county prosecutor and his defense team.

Edward and Pauline (Sovis) Washik, of Mountain Home, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on July 24. The couple were married in 1954 in Johnson City, N.Y., and said they enjoyed their travels of 20 years in the Air Force. They have three children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren...

The music rang out across the hills as one of the state's largest fireworks shows exploded overhead as Mountain Home observed Independence Day on Friday. Across the community, the patriotic spirit came alive that day as households across town displayed American flags in their yards or on their houses...
