The Idaho Motorcycle Club and American Legion Post No. 26 will hold a "Wreaths Across America" ceremony Dec. 12 at 9:30 a.m. in Carl Miller Park. Across the country, at the same time, groups will be laying out wreaths in remembrance of POW and MIA servicemen...

Law enforcement authorities made a major drug bust in Tipanuk Monday night, arresting Albino G. Pedroza, 48, on a variety of charges related to distributing narcotics. A search warrant on Pedroza's residence in Tipanuk was executed by the Elmore County Sheriff's Office and agents with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. OSI's role in the case was not immediately identified...

President Obama's speech to the nation last week outlining his strategy for Afghanistan has drawn fire from both the far left and the far right, which means he essentially adopted a middle-of-the-road approach to that quagmire. Operationally, the plan appears to have Gen. David Petreaus' fingerprints all over it, and that's not bad, since Petreaus is probably the nation's leading military expert and theoretician on counter-insurgency warfare...

The ninth-grade boys basketball team opened its 2009-2010 season this past week traveling to Nampa for a game versus the Bulldogs, falling 50-42.
