Please don't speculate about Fr. Raul, reader hopes to welcome him back soon
(Letter to the Editor ~ 09/26/07)
Dear editor: I am writing this in support of Fr. Raul Covarrubias, for myself and several other members of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Parish who feel they cannot write a letter. (Not surprising) the account of Fr. Raul's recent suspension reported in the Idaho Statesman was worded toward a very negative bias, with innuendos rather than facts. Using the past tense, "was," they also misrepresented a statement given by the parish secretary...

Fish should be salvaged, not left to die
(Letter to the Editor ~ 09/26/07)
Dear editor: These pictures give evidence to what happens when agencies or people with authority can't or won't work together. (Letter to the Editor ~ 09/26/07)
Dear editor: Mitch Prouty is a friend of mine. I have known him for the better part of ten years. Mitch is running for city council and I plan to vote for him. Here is why. Mitch is a good person. He doesn't have a sour bone in his body and isn't the type to fight over opinion just for the sake of fighting. He is the kind of person who will think things through before jumping out and making hasty decisions. Decisions that may not be in the best interests of our town...

Dear editor: In reference to Ms. Ash, and her "Shame on those who voted 'no'" letter to the editor. However, I highly doubt your struggle to "catch-up" was based solely on a shortage of textbooks...
