Public addresses stray cat issues

Representatives with a non-profit group that works to trap, neuter and then release stray and feral cats to control their numbers received word that their actions somehow violated city ordinances. Comments presented at the meeting urged city officials to make needed changes to these laws.

Efforts to control the number of stray and abandoned cats in the Mountain Home area highlighted the main subject people in the community addressed to local officials as the city council met March 25.

The meeting began as Beverly King and Shannon Evans with the Lost Paws TNR program highlighted the local organization’s efforts to trap, neuter and release these cats that remain without a home to live.
