Idaho State Police Proudly Celebrates 86 Years of Service

MERIDIAN, Idaho – Today, the Idaho State Police (ISP) proudly celebrates 86 years of dedicated service to the people of Idaho. Since 1939, ISP has remained steadfast in its commitment to protecting lives, property, and the constitutional rights of Idahoans.
“Our legacy is one of honor, dedication, and relentless commitment to public safety,” said Colonel Bill Gardiner, Director of ISP. “For 86 years, ISP has evolved to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world while remaining true to our core values. We uphold the highest law enforcement standards, ensuring that Idaho remains safe to live, work, and raise a family.”
As we look forward to another year of service, ISP remains focused on key priorities: strengthening our connection with the communities we serve, combating human trafficking, and interdicting the transportation of dangerous drugs like fentanyl. We will continue to meet these challenges head-on through innovation and collaboration with our partners.
ISP expresses deep gratitude to the people of Idaho for their trust and support. As we celebrate this milestone, we honor the officers and staff—past and present—who have dedicated their careers to public service. Their commitment and sacrifice, along with the support and cooperation of the Idaho community, ensure ISP’s continued success as a model law enforcement agency.
