Arts council hosts ‘Fly for Freedom’ event

Women known collectively as Rossie the Riveters provided the United States the support it needed during World War II by helping build approximately 300,000 aircraft during the war, including B-17 and B-26 bombers used to combat Axis forces threatening this nation and its allies.

The contributions of the nation’s women during World War II take the stage this week as the Mountain Home Arts Council presents “Living Voices: Fly for Freedom.”

Free to the public, doors to the event open at 6:30 p.m. with the event set to follow at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Mountain Home Public Library, 790 North 10th East St.
