Helen Louise Petty
Helen Louise Petty passed away on December 29, 2024 peacefully at home, surrounded by family at the age of 89 years. Louise was born on August 18, 1935, in Denton, Montana, to Raymond and Maude Mound, joining her 4-year-old sister Mary as a birthday present
Louise was raised in Montana until her early teen years when her family moved to Wendell, Idaho.She played the coronet in band, loved music and adventure, and has many fond stories from those years. During her junior year in high school, they relocated to Mountain Home, Idaho.
While still in high school, Louise met her soulmate and eventually married Norman Petty in April of 1954. Together they raised four children until Norm’s passing in 2011
Louise was known for her service in the community. She was active with her children’s school activities, with the First Congregational Church teaching Sunday School, baking, serving coffee,and whatever else was asked of her. She was also a den mother for the Cub Scouts, hosting many activities throughout the years. Her sense of adventure continued with the family spending many weekends camping.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norm Petty, her sister Mary Hollenbeck, and her granddaughter Kami Cronk. She is survived by her four children: Brian and his wife Galilea Petty of Houston Texas, Michael and his wife Stella Petty of Magnolia Texas, Laurie and her husband Karl Miller of Meridian, and Raymond and his wife Sarah Petty of Troutdale, Oregon, as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
