Letter to the Editor

Photos clearly showed heartwarming spirit

Wednesday, January 1, 2025

Dear editor,

There are two of God’s creatures I adore; children and babies as well as “puppy faces” -- a.k.a. dogs. It was my sister, Donna Marie (RIP) who taught me that dog spelled backwards is “God.”

Thank you, my beautiful and beloved baby sister, as I’ve never forgotten that!

On Dec. 25, 2024, the Mountain Home News printed a color photo, along with a short story on Page 9, where several children first performed at the assisted living center, which (without a doubt) provided those folks with well-deserved happiness and pleasure. I too, have a family member in an assisted living home, Jerry Cook, who is battling Parkinson’s Disease.

Later, these children visited the Mountain Home Animal Shelter. There, they met sweet little Chester, who was up for adoption.

What a heartwarming photo and story, Mountain Home News.

We must give credit to the parents of these children for teaching them compassion by giving aid & showing mercy to those less fortunate, dogs included.

And now, sweet little Chester has a new home and loving family. This photo should be awarded, “Photo of the Year!”

Sincerely,

-- Rhonda O’Hanley, Glenns Ferry
