In honor of ‘Scrubby...’

Jim “Scrubby” Birchfield and his wife, Karen, ran the Scrubby’s Smokehouse Restaurant along Airbase Road near the main gate at Mountain Home Air Force Base. Scrubby was one of several people in the Mountain Home area who worked to create Air Force Appreciation Day -- a community celebration that honors the men and women stationed at the local Air Force base.

The newspaper invites those in the Mountain Home community to help celebrate the legacy of a man whose meals he created at his former restaurant were something his wife wanted to share with others.
