City officials urge drivers to remain safe

Following a series of accidents and collisions on local roadways last week, city officials urged people in Mountain Home and other communities to take steps to remain safe while driving or walking on icy and snow-covered streets and walkways.

Mountain Home and areas across Elmore County got blanketed with snow and rain as a winter storm passed through southern Idaho on Dec. 16, which led to 16 slide offs and crashes along the interstate as well as local highways, according to information released by the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office.
