City council discusses water rights

The Dec. 10 city council meeting came as crews continued work on a water pipeline to deliver water from the Snake River to Mountain Home Air Force Base. The project seeks to provide the base with a dependable water access as water levels from the local aquifer continue to decline.

Plans regarding water rights aimed at benefiting the Mountain Home community headlined a series of discussions addressed by the city council during a scheduled meeting earlier this month.

At issue were ongoing efforts aimed at providing sustainable water resources to homes, businesses, farms and ranches in the Mountain Home area.
