Glenns Ferry celebrates holiday gathering

Santa gives Ellena Espino’s furry friend, Rusty, some welcome attention to help grant the teen the one wish she wanted as she prepared to leave town to take part in an event in Hawaii.

The spirit of the holiday season arrived Saturday evening as people across Glenns Ferry gathered during this year’s “A Ferry Merry Christmas” community gathering.

Preparations for the annual event began around 5:30 p.m. as Gary and Tracy Klett drove up to the local Veterans of Foreign Wars hall to put the finishing touches on their Christmas sleigh.
