Voters cast ballots in election

More than 10,000 people gathered at districts in Mountain Home and across Elmore County in addition to other communities across the state as they cast their ballots for their choice of who should lead the United States as well as those representing Idaho at the state and federal level during last week’s primary elections.

According to preliminary results posted by the Elmore County elections office and the Idaho Secretary of State, voters in Idaho overwhelmingly selected Donald Trump as the nation’s 47th president while giving similar support for Republican federal and state lawmakers and other conservative candidates.
