Bonnie J. Langford
Bonnie J. Langford, 96, of Waldron Arkansas, was ushered into His glory on October 10, 2024. She was born on June 16, 1928, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Daniel David Buncheck and Anne Margaret Powell.
She grew up in Clinton, Oklahoma where she attended Lincoln Grade School. In 1942, she moved with her family to Doctor Deputy’s farm and attended Clinton High School, where she played clarinet in the band. In 1946, she married Elbert David Arter and had three children. Upon her divorce in 1956, she moved to Mountain Home, Idaho to live with her parents. In 1958, she met Sgt. Robert Lamar Langford and married him.
Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of the River of Life Family Worship Center in Mountain Home, Idaho, where she served as a church clerk, Sunday School teacher, Missionette leader, and worked in the church booths during bazaars, the Air Force Appreciation Days, and the county fairs.
Mom grew up during the depression, and like many young people her age during this time, she went to work to help her parents out. Her love and devotion to her family later never stopped as long as her parents were alive, and it spilled over into her own. She loved us and made silent sacrifices for us, that until later years, we had no idea she had made.
Mom gave her life to God in a small church in Idaho. She was married in that church, raised her family in it, and served faithfully as a church clerk and as a Sunday School teacher for 50 years. I remember her spending hours preparing material to teach her elementary Sunday School class, making and selling items for the church bazaars, mixing gallons of sugar and cotton candy flavoring, and getting up in the early hours of the morning to help make doughnuts to support the church fund raisers.
Mom was not one who sought to be noticed, she did not get out and socialize, and in her later years, she spent most of time in her house, but she never stopped loving, supporting, and caring for her family, her church family, and neighbors. Her greatest desire was found in 2 Timothy 4:7 – to keep the faith and finish the race. Though her mind and body slowly gave out, she kept her faith and finished the race. Freed from this world, she has stepped up to receive her crown of righteousness. Though she left an empty space in our hearts, today we celebrate the life she lived and her new residency in Heaven. Love you mom
