Fire department open house set

People gain an invitation to climb aboard the city fire department’s engines and take a drive through parts of Mountain Home during this year’s open house event at Fire Station One.

The importance of installing and testing smoke detectors in people’s homes highlight the fire prevention message members of the Mountain Home Fire Department plan to share with others in the community during an annual open house event Thursday, Oct. 10.

Scheduled to run from 5 to 8 p.m. that evening at Fire Station 1 at the corner of South Main and South 2rd East streets behind Ace Hardware, the event features a number of activities in addition to allowing adults and children to climb aboard fire trucks before they drive through parts of town.
