Parks and rec holds inaugural Mighty Fine Color Run event

People young and old gathered along the walking path near the Desert Canyon Golf Course as they prepared to compete in a race that literally promoted a spirit of color.

The Mighty Fine Color Run hosted by the city parks and recreation department Sept. 14 included 40 runners that met at Legacy Park and then shuttled over to the starting “color toss” along the walking path on the city’s north side that allowed people to run, walk or roll their way back to the community park.
