Yvonne Marie Decker
Yvonne Marie Decker, born on November 28th, 1953, in Gooding, Idaho, passed away on September 4th, 2024, in Mountain Home, Idaho.
A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Yvonne was the second daughter of Bud and Orie Decker and she is survived by her two sisters Terrie Trail and Claudia Morrison.
Yvonne poured her heart and soul into raising her two daughters, Tacia Dilworth and Heather Castillo, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren: Kaysia Castillo, Anthony Castillo, Annessa Castillo, Isaac Castillo, Max Dilworth and Dawson Dilworth. She also delighted in the company of her great-grandchildren: AJ, Rylee, Paxton, Willow, Leighton, Vonnie and Xavier. Who brought endless joy to her life.
A resident of Mountain Home in the last year of her life, Yvonne spent her childhood summers in Pine and attended school in Glenns Ferry. She graduated high school in 1974 and went on to technical school in Pocatello, Idaho. She held various positions throughout her life, including working as a bank teller and an administrative assistant. Known affectionately as "Von" or "Vonnie", she had a vibrant spirit and unique flair for life that made her unforgettable. She called everyone "Doll" but if she gave you a nickname, you were considered loved by her.
Yvonne had a passion for playing Blackjack in Jackpot and enjoyed playing 21 with her grandchildren. Teaching them how to play with pennies. She enjoyed reading and dancing, particularly, teaching her grandkids how to Jitterbug. She was a talented cook, famous for her spareribs and chicken and noodles. Which brought family together on birthdays and holidays.
Her favorite place in the world was the Oregon Coast, where she found peace and happiness.
Yvonne lived by the motto "Dance like no one is watching," and she indeed danced through life with a radiant energy that touched those around her. Her bright spirit and love for family will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. Yvonne's light will never dim: she shined brighter than any star, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire those lives that she touched.
She was not placed in our lives for the ordinary. She was not ordinary, nor should anything mentioned of her be ordinary.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Rost Funeral Home, 50 N. 18th E. Mountain Home, ID
