Base water project moves forward

Plans to provide a sustainable water supply to those stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base took another step forward Tuesday morning as senior state and base officials officially broke ground on a $100 million project to build a water treatment facility at the local military installation.

Col. Michael Alfaro, 366th Fighter Wing commander, joined Gov. Brad Little, Lt. Gov. Scott Bedke and Idaho Water Resource Board Chairman Jeff Raybould to take part in the ceremony, which included a brief tour of the water project.
