With schools in Mountain Home and other local communities marking the start of the new school year, officials with the Elmore County Sheriff’s Department urged drivers as well as students to play it safe and watch for one another as they travel in areas where children and teens cross roadways to get to and from school.
Drivers need to keep an eye for pedestrians everywhere they drive along with slowing down and carefully adhering to posted speed limits, sheriff’s officials said in a message posted to social media last week.
