Artists celebrate Community Canvas

During the July 4 event, artist Ava Johnson invited parents and children to dip their hand in some paint and place their handprint on her canvas display.

An ongoing effort to turn walkways and other areas in the city's downtown area into a showcase of local artists celebrated its eighth anniversary last week as people in the Mountain Home area got their first official look at the newest creations.

The Community Canvas of Mountain Home expanded as artists joined forces to create 26 new murals located behind seven local businesses, said Brenda Raub with the community art program.
