Fire on I84 causing delays

Fire crews from Mountain Home and other communities continue to battle a range fire that erupted around 3:10 p.m. July 8.

First reports indicate a vehicle caught fire in the eastbound lane of the interstate near milepost 97.

Law enforcement arrived on the scene and indicated the vehicle was "fully evolved." They immediately requested support from rural fire agencies and the Bureau of Land Management to contain the flames, which had ignited the land near the vehicle.

As of 3:45 p.m., the fire had spread eastward toward the Old Oregon Trail Road at Exit 99.

People are advised to remain away from this area until fire crews contain the blaze.
