Fatal shooting in Albertsons parking lot

On Wednesday, May 22, at approximately 9:50am, County Sheriff's Office Dispatchers broadcasted an "attempt to locate" a vehicle eastbound on I84 at MP64. At approximately 10:05am an Deputy witnessed a vehicle matching the given description, I84 exit 90. The deputy was able to catch up and attempt a traffic stop in the Albertson's parking lot.

Before the Deputy was able to make contact with the driver, the driver fired a single shot, injuring himself. The driver was transported to St. Luke's hospital where he was pronounced dead.

As of now, the incident is still currently under investigation, and names have not been released pending next of kin notification. Stay tuned for further updates as received,
