Fallen but not forgotten

Memorial day marks the beginning of summer for many. However, for most, it is the day that we as a nation honor and mourn those who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of our freedom.

There will be a wreath laying at Mountain View Cemetery at 5pm thanks to Lodge 2276. All are welcome.

Memorial Day remembrance had its beginnings after the Civil War, when the first national cemeteries were established. Many cities and towns began holding springtime tributes, for the countless soldiers, their graves marked with new blooms and prayers shared amongst those grieving.
