Desert Sage Grand Opening

Wednesday, May 15, 2024

On May 10th, the giant glass doors of the new Desert Sage building were finally opened. When you walk in, you are immediately immersed in the Gugerhiman. At least that’s what CEO Mary Ferguson paints for you, and rightly so as you stare out floor to ceiling glass walls and look out at their beautiful xeriscaped landscape.

With eighteen exam rooms, nine behavioral health rooms all occupied with mental health specialists, eight dental chairs, and two exam carports, this facility has it all. Yes, you read that right, there are two exam carports. That means you can drive up, no appointment necessary and be examined in your car. It is the first in the nation according to Ferguson, and one that will truly blaze the trail for the future of general medicine care. It is spacious to allow privacy and there is still a normal exam room in between the two should a more traditional exam be required. Ferguson truly thought of everything when she led her team through this ground-breaking feat.

Desert Sage brought in Hummel, one of the companies that were a part of the State Captial’s renovation. The Hummel team was even present at the ribbon cutting with the rest of the community.

This building not only marks growth for Mountain Home and Elmore County, but it also shows the true value that the community hold on the importance of both physical and mental health.
