New Health Center to Meet Needs in Mountain Home

Mountain Home Idaho – Residents of Mountain Home will have greater access to much-needed health care services after Desert Sage Health Center (DSHC) received funding for a new, larger facility through the federal New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) program. The 30,800-square-foot facility is about three times the size of DSHC’s previous facility, allowing it to better provide high-quality primary care to the steadily growing low-income or uninsured patients in the area. Construction of the new facility also contributed to the development of American Legion Boulevard, which will serve as a major gateway into Mountain Home from Interstate 84 and further improve patient access to vital health care services.
Financing for the project came together through investments from DSHC, Idaho Central Credit Union, and New Markets Tax Credits from MoFi and Chase New Markets Corporation. Chase also served as the NMTC equity investor for the financing. The project highlights the power of the NMTC program to help finance community facilities in places where they are needed most. Construction of the $21 million project began in November 2022 and was completed one month before expected.
