Timothy “Tim” Gene Jackson
Timothy “Tim” Gene Jackson passed peacefully at home on Saturday, January 20, 2024 in Mountain Home, Idaho after a brief and honorable battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife and his 3 sons as he departed this earth to be with the Lord. He is survived by his wife Patricia Jackson. His 3 sons: Richard (MiJin - deceased) Jackson, Brian Jackson, and Jeff (Maggie) Jackson residing in Idaho. His 4 grandchildren: Jennifer (Kevin) Jackson, Jeremy (Tiffany) Jackson, Emily Jackson, and Kimberlynn Jackson residing in Idaho, Hawaii, and Kuwait. His 4 great grandchildren: Cash Jackson, Hailey Holmes, Kyler Jackson, and Carter Jackson. His older sister Dixie Epps residing in California. And Patricia’s 3 children: John (Rebekah) Johnson, Angela (David) Lowber, and Kamala Johnson, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren residing in Idaho. Tim was born to Shirley Ann and Floyd Eugene Jackson in Raymond, Ohio on September 27, 1942. He was the second youngest of 4 children. His siblings were Ron, Dixie and Tom. He and his first love and wife, Martha Jackson (deceased), were married in 1962 and raised their 3 sons across the country while he served in the United States Air Force. His duty stations were in Idaho, Korea, Kansas, Alaska, and Greenland. He was a Vietnam War veteran. Tim dutifully served his country for 20 years as a civil engineer and retired as a Technical Sergeant in Mountain Home where he continued to reside for the rest of his life. He was a faithful and loyal companion, father, and friend to all who knew him. He was known to show up in support no matter what for his loved ones, and was always on time. He loved anything outdoors, including fishing, elk/deer/pheasant hunting, and camping. He had a remarkable talent in woodworking, carving beautiful birds and building furniture for his family. He enjoyed watching and playing baseball (he played in his youth and was a fast-pitch softball pitcher for his CE squadron in the military), eating mint chocolate chip ice cream, listening to bluegrass, a devoted life to his faith and family. He also loved his animals, including 4 miniature poodles at once whom he lovingly doted on. Tim was a man of few words, yet his actions spoke volumes to his infallible character. He led his life with a servant’s heart, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, and great pride in his family. He will be dearly missed. A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 27th at Wright Congregational Church in Boise. He was laid to rest with military honors alongside his first wife Martha and grandson Steven at Glenn Rest Cemetery in Glenns Ferry.
