LEAP Housing + City of Mountain Home break ground on first phase of 136 unit affordable housing development
Mountain Home, Idaho - For the first time in over 20 years, Mountain Home will see new affordable housing. “Falcons Landing,” a development by LEAP Housing, will be funded by Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), administered by Idaho Housing and Finance Association, in addition to other funding sources. LEAP broke ground on their project on September 26th in partnership with the City of Mountain Home.
The first phase of the development will consist of 60 units of affordable and market-rate multifamily rental units in two buildings. Falcons Landing will eventually hold a mix of multifamily rentals and single-family homes for sale to income-qualified households.
Amenities of the development will also include garden beds, a community building with on-site laundry, a playground, and more.
“This project started with our team in 2020 and I am excited to see it come to fruition. Thank you LEAP Housing for taking a chance on Mountain Home and bringing a much-needed product to our community” says Mayor Rich Sykes.
“Falcons Landing has been a dream of ours for years, and we are excited to finally be providing essential workforce housing to the community of Mountain Home, which is experiencing rapidly rising housing costs” says Bart Cochran, LEAP CEO.
