Mayor announces new interim Chief of Police

10.31.22 - Mountain Home, ID. - Let us introduce you to interim Chief Jon Thompson of the Mountain Home Police Department. Mayor Rich Sykes made the announcement Monday afternoon in front of the Mountain Home Police Department with PD officers as well as city staff and friends. Mayor Sykes stated that as long as City Council approves “he will be the guy” officially sworn in at the next council meeting scheduled for November 14th.

Mayor Sykes welcomed the new leadership in the department as Lt. Thompson became Interim Chief Thompson accompanied by his wife of 28 years, Blythe. Thompson came to the department in August of 2021 and has over 30+ years in law enforcement.
