Betty Lou Hoagland Wilson-Griggs
Betty Lou Hoagland Wilson-Griggs, retired restaurant owner and homemaker went home to be with her Lord, and Savior, who she longed to be with, on Monday, May 2, 2022, at the age of 83, after a lengthy battle with dementia.
Betty grew up in the Melba area and graduated from Melba High School. In 1982 she moved to Bruneau where she lived for many years and became a beloved member of the community. Betty’s talents were many. She was an extremely accomplished cook, artist, musician, seamstress; and she liked to chink cabins. She loved to fish, camp, and hunt. Betty spent much of her time making meals and delivering them to those who were home bound.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Esther Hoagland. She is survived by her seven children who loved her very much: Teri Zapata of Nampa, ID, Cathy Mayeux of Meridian, ID, Joe Wood of Caldwell, ID, Tony Wood of Melba, ID, Peter Wood of Alexandria, VA, Betty Gene Lahtinen of Mountain Home, ID, and Patrick Wilson of Alexandria, VA; her two beloved sisters Verna Lee Robertson of Boise, ID and Donna Wood of Nampa, ID; 20 grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM, Saturday, May 14 at the Melba Senior Center, 115 Base Line Rd in Melba. All friends and family are invited.
