Idaho House Committee Passes Anti-Trans Youth Bill
3.4.22 - HB675 charges medical professionals and parents with a felony for supporting transgender youth with gender-affirming care
BOISE - Despite overwhelming testimony in opposition, on March 4th, the Idaho House State Affairs committee passed HB675, a bill that would criminalize medical professionals for providing gender-affirming care to transgender youth, and would criminalize parents who seek gender-affirming care for their child out-of-state. Across the board, gender affirming care is widely accepted across the medical profession, and is supported by the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, and the American Psychiatric Association.
