City Council and Mayor responds to Mayors criminal charges

In a press release dated February 8th, 2022 the City Council issued the following letter in regards to the Mayor facing criminal charges.

SUBJECT: Misdemeanor charges filed against Mountain Home Mayor Rich Sykes alleging a violation of I.C. §18 1359(a) to wit: Using Public Position for Personal Gain

On or about January 31st, 2022 the Attorney General's Office of the State of Idaho, as Special Prosecutor, filed a criminal complaint and summons in Elmore County against Mayor Rich Sykes alleging that Mr. Sykes utilized his public position for personal gain.
