Maria Colleta Sanchez Rathbun

Maria Colleta Sanchez Rathbun, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at a local care facility. Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mountain Home Stake on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 11 A.M. With burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Maria was born in Monterey, Mexico to Alfredo Sanchez and Francica Martinez. She married Alfred T. Rathbun Sr. in 1964. They made their home in Walla Walla, Washington where she studied the English language and acquired her U.S. citizenship. She worked there until her retirement, when they relocated to Mountain Home.

Maria is survived by daughter-in-law Maxine Rathbun of Mountain Home, daughters Lee Northrup of Sacramento, California and Lavona Clements of Wenatchee, Washington as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildern.

Maria is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Colleta of Mexico, son Alfred Ted Rathbun Jr. of Mountain Home and daughter Hilda Pruett of Portland, Oregon.
