Reader wants annual 'Farmers Appreciation' parade
Perhaps you recall a time when you were not permitted to pick your silverware at the dinner table until ever one was seated and grace was said? I suppose it depends on how one is raised.
While most of us sit down to a meal consisting of dairy, fruit, vegetables, or meat, we usually do not think about the farmers who worked hard to make such meals possible. We really should appreciate all that they do to feed the world by having ‘National Farmers Day’ in America. Unless you have a commercial-size farm, farming is not a high-profit job.
The new buss word is ‘unity,’ I believe our legislators should ‘step up to the plate’ and intro/pass a bill proclaiming ‘Nation Farmers Day.’ Our farmers are very deserving of such recognition!
Communities could unite by holding annual parades with the Best Decorated Tractor/Wagon category; how fun!
