Over the past couple of years the Elmore County Commissioners have worked with Elmore County Veteran’s Officer, Traci Colton, to raise funds, design and place a Veteran’s Monument in front of the Elmore County Courthouse. All of that hard work has now paid off with the piece newly installed at its permanent home. Originally the county had planned for an unveiling to take place on Memorial Day, but because of current situations with the COVID-19 Pandemic the ceremony was delayed in order to have the Honor Guard and other individuals able to participate. The county is now planning to hold the ceremony on July 4th if social distancing requirements correlating with Governor Little’s staged re-opening of the state can be met at that time. The Mountain Home News will continue to keep the community updated as the date draws closer.
