Voting Absentee and ensuring your vote counts!

1. REQUEST a ballot
Online Absentee Ballot Request is now available! Go to https://idahovotes.gov/vote-early-idaho/ to request an absentee ballot or you may also download and fill out the absentee ballot request form, and then mail it to your County Clerk’s office. Remember the deadline to register to Vote is May 19th at 8 p.m. and the deadline to request the Absentee Ballot is May 19th at 8 p.m. Due to the Covid19 pandemic our nation is going through this year, the governor has made absentee ballot your only opportunity to vote in the May primary elections. You may do this in person, meaning drop your request in the mail box in front of the Elmore County courthouse or mailing the request through traditional mail These dates are not postmark dates but specifically received by the Elmore County Elections office.
2. WAIT...
We know it’s the hardest part! Please allow 10 - 14 days from election clerks receipt to process and return your absentee ballot to you by mail. Please be patient as these circumstances have caused the software system to be overwhelmed as well as your local clerks.
3. VOTE & RETURN
In order to be counted, you must send your ballot back to your County Clerk’s office by June 2, 2020. This again may be accomplished by dropping your ballot in the mailbox outside the courthouse or by mailing traditional mail, but this again does not mean postmarked. It must physically be received by the deadline of June 2nd, 8 p.m., so mail early to ensure delivery by the deadline.
County Clerks will start the process of counting ballots at 9 p.m sharp in Elmore County to accommodate the time change in northern Idaho when all ballots must be in by 8 p.m
