12 students from MHHS HOSA attended regionals and all placed at event

This was the first year for the Magic Valley HOSA Regional Conference at the College of Southern Idaho. It was also the first year that MHHS HOSA attended a regional competition. Seven schools participated and 20 competitive events were offered. HOSA Regionals included opening/closing ceremonies, symposiums, and a Friday night HOSA bowl competition. The MHHS team came very close to winning the first annual HOSA Bowl Cup, losing by only two questions to Twin Falls High School. While all MHHS HOSA Bowl team members contributed to winning three matches to put the team in the final round, “Hailie Goldthorpe was on fire,” often answering questions before they were completed. The audience erupted in cheers and laughter when at one point, she pushed the buzzer before the question had even been asked and actually got it right, yelling the correct answer, “B”!
Another highlight at HOSA regionals, was seeing Idaho HOSA Post-Secondary Vice President Cole Lancaster, MHHS Class of 2019, as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
