Recreation District considers building both pools at once

Thursday, January 30, 2020

The Western Elmore County Recreation District (WECRD) held its regular meeting on Wednesday, January 22 in the offices at 245 East 6th South in Mountain Home. In attendance were special guests Lynn Douglas and Dave Barquest, Business Development Managers for Sprung Instant Structures out of Canada.

The meeting began with an update from the foundation. After paying for the sidewalks there is about $16,000 in their fund.

In the Construction update given by Lee Pierce, the district was able to get a sign made and will, now, manage, somehow, to get it erected on the construction site.

More importantly, somewhere between the December meeting and last week’s meeting, the Board of Directors (BOD) started thinking about building both of their planned pools at once. They received immediate feedback from the audience in attendance about the importance of communicating with the community.

What a joke this district has turned into. Many of the things proposed were proposed in the past. But here we are 2o some years later and nothing to show for all the monies collected over that time but a piece of land. Sure it is not all the fault of the current board but something would be far better than a piece of land in a flood zone.
