Historic event for water in Elmore County
Thursday, December 26, 2019

Where there's water there's life. That's what was said when they found water on the moon.
The Elmore County Commissioners have recently acquired a new water right for the county and hope to acquire at least one other on Anderson Ranch Reservoir in the foreseeable future. This first, hard-fought acquisition is a feat in and of itself. It's historical.
In addition, the County has also received a Water Right to capture run-off water along Canyon Creek into a series of drainage pits that will then filter down into the aquifer. They also currently have a pending application to pump water from the Snake River.
It is rare that water be redirected or transferred from one water basin to another.
