Marvin Joe Reinier
Marvin Joe Reinier, 83, of Mountain Home was called home on Friday, May 17, 2019, with his loving family by his side.
Marvin was born on December 15, 1935 in a farmhouse in Orange County, Indiana to Bertha and Joe Reinier. He grew up in Southern Indiana and graduated in 1954 at Borden, Indiana with 11 other classmates. Shortly afterward he joined the Air Force.
While stationed in Texas, he met Norma Ann Wilson who he married in 1957. They were married for 57 years. This union brought forth 4 children, a daughter and 3 sons. While the family traveled with the Air Force for the next 24 years, they enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked 15 years with Boise Locomotive as a lead electrician testing locomotives. He volunteered 10 years doing tax returns at the Mountain Home Senior Center.
He spent the rest of his life doing what he loved, fly fishing the South Fork of the Boise River and fishing C. J. Strike with family and friends. Marvin would often share the produce from his abundant garden and he enjoyed walking every day, rain or shine. He was considerate and thoughtful to those closest to him and shared a close bond with each of his children and grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by his brothers, George and Charles, daughter Martha, son Norman and wife Simonne, son George, son Timothy, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, both parents, two sisters, and a son-in-law.
Services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 790 S. Haskett Street in Mountain Home. A viewing will be held from 9:30AM -10:45AM. The funeral service will begin at 11AM and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
