Couple celebrates 60th wedding anniversary
Larry and Joanne (Leydet) Johnson of Mountain Home celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, November 3. The couple both grew up in Mountain Home and graduated from Mountain Home High School. Larry retired from the Air Force in 1976 and the couple returned home. Larry operated the family businesses which included Mountain Home Redi Mix/Johnson Brothers Construction, and Johnson Brothers Hospitality, LLC. Although he has “retired” and sold the Redi Mix business in 2005 he is still involved in the family business. Joanne finished her teaching degree after returning to Mountain Home and later purchased the Children’s House Montessori School which she lovingly operated until her retirement. They are enjoying their retirement years splitting their time between Mountain Home and Sun Lakes, Arizona.
They have four children James (Debbie), Roger (Glorie), David (Lynda), and Laura (Ken). They have also been blessed with nine grandchildren, Aaron, Nicholas, Brenton (Jessica), Ryan (Evelyn), Stephanie (Brian), Erik, Cole, Bradley and Brooke - and four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Miles, Isaac, and Charlotte.
Larry and Joanne celebrated their anniversary with their family, and were blessed to be able to celebrate it with Joanne’s 97 year old mother Jean Leydet as well.
